This chapter roughly divides Ye Xin’s educated youth creation career into three stages, early stage, metaphase and recent period and respectively elaborates creative characteristics in three stages, namely narrating suffering and struggling of youth in early stage, struggling and helplessness in middle age in metaphase, describing reminiscence and confession in old age in recent period by taking Let Years Slip by, Sinful Debt and Passer-by Pavilion.The third chapter of the paper emphatically analyzes the most important two themes of Ye Xin’s educated youth novels:love and humanity. Since most stories described in educated youth novels are related to special historic background such as the Cultural Revolution and going and working in the countryside and mountainous areas, Ye Xin’s novels have never stopped attention and reflection to love and humanity of that generation in special times. His persistent attention and exploration towards love particularly catch people’s eyes. The author kept a lofty foothold in combining men and women’s love and the surging grand background of the trend of the whole social times, reflecting contemporary spirit of individuals through tortuous emotional life of individuals, presenting and rethinking the society from the perspective of personalization, and surveying personal personality ethics through analysis and detailed inquiry towards circulated loss and gain of "love". In absurd times of the Cultural Revolution, goodness and evilness of humanity were incisively and vividly manifested because of special times and political background. Ye Xin made a lot of description of evilness of humanity and goodness of humanity in his works so as to put forward his own thoughts and views on humanity.
