Shen Newspaper was published in 1872 in Shanghai and was issued for up to 78 years.It is one of the longest and most far-reaching newspapers in the modern history of Shanghai,which records a large number of rich and comprehensive stage music performance materials.Therefore,the importance of the study of modern Chinese music history is self-evident.On the one hand,the author tries to collect and sort out the huge information about the stage music in 1920-1929 years,such as the advertisement and comment on the stage music.On the one hand,it tries to reflect the appearance of the Shanghai stage music performance through the newspapers and periodicals.On the other hand,through the interpretation of these materials and the related literature,the author makes clear that western music has entered China.What are the western forms of music performed?Where are the main venues for the performance? Which people are involved in the performance?Did it collide with traditional Chinese performances and what kind of impact did it bring?
