In the late Qing dynasty and early Republic of China,The Scholars is one of the few widely spread traditional novels.This paper investigates the text dissemination and reception of the novel from its completion to The New Culture Movement.In addition to the introduction,this paper consists of four chapters.The first chapter sorts out the three hot spots of communication since The Scholars was written,and analyzes the characteristics and significance of communication in each period.In the era with the traditional comment as the main force,The Scholars gradually entered the stage of public dissemination by Wo's comment,Qi's comment and Huang's comment.When the emerging printing technology entered the publishing field,The Scholars entered the stage of systematic dissemination under the Shen newspaper office.When vernacular literature became the cultural demand of the new era,The Scholars with punctuation became a popular classical novel with its pure language and entered the stage of classical dissemination.The second chapter focuses on the relationship between the Shen newspaper office and the dissemination of The Scholars.Firstly,this paper starts with the influence of the Shen newspaper office,analyzes the reason why The Scholars has attracted great attention when it was published with the emerging technology for the first time,and explores the change of its novel concept by explaining the advertising content of selling books,so as to further explore the publishing strategy of the Shen newspaper office.Secondly,on the basis of publishing philosophy about honors and benefits and combining with his previous publishing and distribution experience,this paper summarizes the reasons why the Shen newspaper office took the lead in publishing The Scholars with the latest technology.Finally,the paper explores the far-reaching influence of this communication effect from three aspects: the Shen newspaper office,The Scholars and modern novels.The third chapter focuses on the characteristics of the text structure of The Scholars,takes the critical acceptance and creative acceptance as the research object,and investigates the performance of the structural acceptance of the novel by different objects.The structural acceptance in the commentary is mainly based on the perspective of traditional novels,and emphasizes the use of various ways of connecting in narrative fragments.The author's structural acceptance studies take the damnable novels Nie Hai Hua and The Records of Officialdom Exposure as examples.In addition to the structural pattern of continuous collection,the two novels also draw on the structural organization The Scholars in details.Nie Hai Hua creatively used the structure pattern of The Scholars with its continuous gathering,while The Records of Officialdom Exposure remade the section of "the celebrity list" in The Scholars,and wrapped up the whole book in the form of the nameless list.The fourth chapter takes Sing-song Girls of Shanghai as an example to explore the acceptance of the text of The Scholars by the specific novel.As one of the earliest novels of the late Qing dynasty under the influence of The Scholars printed in the Shen newspaper office,Sing-song Girls of Shanghai received the scholars in many ways.From the perspective of communication mode,Sing-song Girls of Shanghai is keenly aware of the adaptation of The Scholars from form to content to the communication environment in the late Qing dynasty.From the perspective of narrative structure,Bangqing Han not only accepted the structure of The Scholars to show the sprite of the group,but more importantly,he transformed the structure with the style of "Interpenetration and Hide".From the perspective of time and space consciousness,Sing-song Girls of Shanghai shows an obvious anti-Qinhuai complex,which is in line with The Scholars.Furthermore,Bangqing Han accepted the use of the garden space in The Scholars and deconstructed the ideal of the talented and beautiful with the help of the garden plot.
