Louis Moreau Gottschalk(May 8,1829-December 18,1869),a famous American composer first apply the American and Creole folk music melody and rhythm to piano works creation,and a pianist who was the first American to win the international reputation.At the age of 13,Louis Moreau Gottschalk left New Orleans to study formal music education in Paris.At Mid-nineteenth-century,he played the "Louisiana trilogy" which was created by him and he became popular with enthusiastic in Europe.After that,Gottschalk decided to visit and host the piano concert tour all over the world.At that time,he absorbed the local ethnic music features and used these national music materials to make music.However,Because of the excessive piano tours and music making,he died prematurely.From this reason,his musical works are little known.Most of Gottschalk's musical compositions are titled piano pieces.Their works are distinctively ethnic and contain international charm that spans national and national boundaries.In this thesis,it will be divided into four parts.Firstly,it will introduce the music background of Gottschalk period.Secondly,there is an indication of Gottschalk's music writing career.Thirdly,it will explain the research on the characteristics of music nationality style in the Paris period of Gottschalk.Finally,there is a description of Gottschalk's contribut...
