In the process of new China's construction,the introduction,utilization and promotion of agricultural machinery not only provide strong material guarantee for the development of agricultural productivity,but also become the symbolic representation of the agricultural production system and the advancement of national policies after the founding of the People's Republic of China.As one of the agricultural machinery which is most closely related to agricultural construction,tractors play an irreplaceable role in the construction of new rural areas in China.In response to the propaganda and call of the national guidelines and policies,tractors,as artistic images,are frequently depicted by art workers after the founding of the People's Republic of China.Topics are include "peasants who visit tractors","tractorwomen","the combination of tractors and ethnic minority areas " " tractor and industrial construction " and so on.Among the literature and art works between 1949 and 1965,the tractor as an artistic image has basically been symbolized: the union of workers and peasants represented allegation of worker-peasant alliance.The combination with the female tractor reflects the liberation of women and the "feminization of agriculture";The combination of minorities proves that New China attaches great importance to the development of ethnic minorities and the ideological goal of national reunification.From the initial development of new agricultural tools representing advanced productive forces into political demands of equality between men and women and the unification of the country,the tractor image has built a picture of the development of agriculture in new China during the course of development more than 10 years.This article is divided into four chapters.First of all,the introduction part mainly elaborates the background of the selected topic,the reason why the topic is selected,the predecessors' research achievements and the key points and innovations of the thesis as well as the research methods.The first chapter traces the existence condition of tractors as agricultural machinery before the founding of New China,paving the way for the tractor images in the later three chapters.In addition,it illustrates the historical facts and the image expression of the first tractor factory in China.The second chapter mainly discusses the relationship between tractor,worker-peasant alliance and mass education.Starting with the three versions of "tractor" images created by Li Qi,the author examines the relationships and differences between versions,analyzes the causes of Li Qi's creation and updating of images,and the social reality behind them.Chapter Three combines tractors with women and studies female Tractor hand image.After the founding of the People's Republic of China,all the media such as Nian,Lian,Xuan,and photography all described the tractorwomen.The author tried to distinguish the different modes in these images so as to prove the role of female tractor hand images in an all-round way and finally explain why "women" After the founding of the People's Republic of China,the agricultural development occupies an important position;Chapter IV,it focuses on the symbolic significance of "tractor" image in the context of the people's social movement.In agricultural development,during the peak of the tractor play a vital role in the rural areas,it is not only a sign of increasing productivity,production relations superiority of evidence,from the side proved the necessity of establish people's communes.The thesis focuses on the important role of tractor image in the new rural conception after the founding of China.First three chapters mainly,the tractor images of works of art are discussed that the development of the advanced productive forces and the necessity,the last chapter turns to the superiority of its auxiliary card production relations,the reduction in the history of the field probe into the change of tractor image referential meaning.The research methods of this paper mainly include: image research,semiotics research and art literature research.
