Virtual Thingness

People's understanding of the physical world is the eternal motif of philosophical thinking.From Plato's imitation of the non-truth of the existence of the real world,to Descartes' affirmation of the mathematical characteristics of the real world;From Kant agnostic attitude towards the real existence,as reference to heidegger thinks the world is the human world,thus created this in,human cross-examine continues today to the real world.Nowadays,mankind has begun to construct virtual world in the digital age,which greatly affects the way people exist in the world,and also affects the understanding of people's existence.The virtual world is a heterogeneous reality,rooted in the real world,but not just a complete copy of the real world.The "virtual reality apart from the traditional forms such as painting,or film,main not involved with the virtual reality beyond the traditional form of expression of the real world,but constitutes a different" exist in the world "type".This kind of different "this in" type,sometimes can even determine the way that people perceive things.Especially in the present age,the virtual world has penetrated into people's lives,study and work,not only affects our lives,has become the main media,we know the world in different ways it shape our experience,to some extent,the way and even determine their contents.In this context,the study of the physical properties of virtual derivatives is not only a response to the eternal question of mankind,but also a realistic care for our living condition.Plato's imitation says that philosophy divides the world into the concept world and the sensory world,and the two binary opposition sets the tone for the western metaphysical tradition.In his eyes,there is an eternal entity that can only be understood by reason-the rational,the thing in the sense world is the coarse imitation of these forms.Art,however,is a repetition of these "coarse" imitations,which are isolated from the truth(Plato: the republic).Than Plato and Aristotle is more focused on art,they all think that art is the imitation of nature,fundamentally different is Plato thought a workof art with the truth through the layer,and Aristotle think art in the study objects and turn them into art,in the form of art directly in dealing with universal truth(type).So he affirmed the cognitive value of art.Later,plotino further argues that art is not an imitation of imperfect natural objects,but rather an expression of the highest level.At this point,the artist is no longer regarded as the artisans of the low-level imitation of nature,and the artistic behavior becomes a cognitive behavior of the nature and philosophy of the world.Based on this idea,Renaissance artists have been endowed with all kinds of sacred power.Michelangelo believed that the sculptor and god had liberated the human body from the rock,and Da Vinci claimed that the artist recreated the works of god in his works.And modern,especially at the beginning of the romantic continued until the avant-garde movement in the 20 th century,artists and even replaced the god as early as in Renaissance leaves open,become the world's new creator.This led to a radical rupture between western modern art and imitation and realism in the 20 th century.Such as the art form of cubism futurism,not only to imitate the real world,but also to deconstruct and change the real world,or to create a heterogeneous reality.Art does not seem to depict the world,but to improve and create a new world,which is the goal of virtual reality.Today's vr and ar technologies,for example,are creating a new world in which technical language is combined with artistic language."The Renaissance artists revealed their geographic space by virtue of their virtual reality,while modern information technology allows us to inhabit our own virtual reality.Instead of using the virtual to escape the reality,we create a heterogeneous reality ".Can art combine technology to create a heterogeneous reality that can continue the human inquiry? Is the virtual existence analogous to the physical object? Can the physical properties of virtual beings be studied as materials of art processing? In this paper,we will try to explore the physical properties of virtual objects from the concept of materialism and minimalistic sculpture,so as to better practice the creation of digital art.
