Abstract/Summary:
The " Kawagarbo Cultural Organization " is a non-governmental organization in the area of Shangri-La.To inherit and rejuvenate Tibetan culture as its own task,the members propagate and educate the villagers to protect the traditional culture,so as to strengthen the sense of identity of the villagers in the Tibetan border area.In this paper,three representatives of cultural organization are selected as the research objects.Through the tracing of their life history,this paper seeks to find the point of understanding their national identity consciousness;And describes a series of practical cases and related events that they have done in the rejuvenation of local traditional culture,trying to from their discourse,practice and the local community people’s feedback to discuss whether these people can be called "local elites" and the process of becoming "local elites";taking the development of the modern market economy as the background of the times,further analyses the research object’s examination and orientation to the self,and re generalizes the meaning of the "local elite".From their stories,we can see the initiative of the locals and then the “local elites” lead them to achieve interaction with the country and the market.
