A Report On The E-C Translation Of The Safety Recall Bulletin Of Vehicle Defect Pruducts

With rapid developments of the automobile industry,China is gradually integrating itself with the world from R&D,manufacturing and sales to after-sales service,However,the accelerating development might be accompanied by some potential security risks,which are caused by the improper designs or the unqualified manufacturing.The vehicle product safety recall can timely help vehicle owners to avoid risks,remove potential security risks,and can help vehicle dealers win the trust from customers and markets.The translation practice report is based on the translation practice project of Vehicle Product Safety Recall Bulletin,authored by the Shanghai Oriental Translation Center Co.,Ltd,which requires the translation accurate,professional,and readable by target language readers.This report consists of five chapters.The first chapter is a brief introduction.The second chapter is about the translation task's description,including the background information,characteristics and requirements of clients.The third chapter makes a summary record of the project's translating process,namely,the translation preparation,the translating process and post-translational modification.The fourth chapter,the case analysis is the main body of this report.In this chapter,based on the Skopos theory,the author makes a detailed description on three aspects,textual features,syntactic and lexical characteristics,with focus on how to adopt some strategies such as literal translation,addition,omission,the shift of voice,the shift of word order,etc.so as to precisely convey information and successfully recall defect products.And the fifth chapter summarizes the whole translation practice.The author makes a summary and reflection on the project to provide reference for future translation practice.
