As the era of Globalization is coming, people from all over the world get in touch and influence each other even more. The competence on cross-cultural communication seems to be even more important. In order to reveal how people collect and process information, how people judge and take the corresponding effective measure to adapt to new culture in different racial, ethnic and cross- cultural environment, Earley and Ang (2003) first definitely put forward the concept of Cultural Intelligence (CQ). According to the construct analysis proposed by Earley and Ang (2003), Cultural Intelligence includes four dimensions (metacognitive, cognitive, motivational, and behavioral). Ang(2007) developed Cultural Intelligence Scale (CQS) to test people's ability with which they take effective measures to adapt to the new cultural environment. This study employed two research designs: a quantitative design and a qualitative design. Using software SPSS V12.0, the study explores whether the CQS of the four dimensions of Cultural Intelligence has a cross-cultural consistency in the context of Chinese culture among International Enterprises? 5 staffs were selected out of the valid subjects for the interview to explore their opinions on improving cultural adaptation through improving CQ. Meanwhile, what are the effective methods on enhancing CQ?At last, the study conclude that Cultural Intelligence Scale model of the four factors in the context of Chinese culture still has a cross-cultural consistency, which can be used to measure person's CQ in the context of Chinese culture. By interviewing global experienced managers and staffs, the research conclude that Cultural Intelligence can be enhanced through training and personal improvement. The cultivation of cross- cultural teaching still exist problems on developing CQ. It is available to use four- dimensional CQ theory to guide cross- cultural teaching. This research significance lies in: It started from the cultural dimensions of CQ and finally illustrates the construct validity of CQ in Chinese background. This is usable in statistical sense; as international enterprises entering China even faster, more and more foreigners come to China and more and more graduate students find work in International Enterprises. CQ can make the cross-cultural work go much better. From this point of view, it provides a good theoretical basis in the practical application on practice and education under Chinese background.Meanwhile, this research also needs improve in some aspects: it may generate some subjective deviation because it is self-measured by each participant; the questionnaire and the interview are given out to the participants whose companies locate in the same city. This may lead to some kind of regional deviation since different areas have different open extent. All these should be distinguished in future study.
