As the saying goes: if you want to do well,you must use your tools first.Scientific and effective learning strategy is an important guarantee of learning success.With the transformation of society,more and more migrant children come to the local government schools,they face many difficulties and challenges.And education is the most notable question.Because the number of rural migrant children in No.1 Middle School in Baota District is increasing year by year,and their English learning achievement are very poor,so it leads to many confusions to schools and teachers.The author decides to take the children of No.1 Middle School in Baota District as the research object,try to find out the problems,analysis the problems,and finally put forward effective solutions and ways through the investigation and their English learning strategies.The author hopes that it can help students to improve their English learning performance,and it can also provide reference experiences and communications for the same level teachers.According to the characteristics of research object,the author uses the classification method of The English Curriculum Standard of English Instruction for Compulsory Education(2011 edition).Learning strategies can be classified into cognitive strategies,regulatory strategies,communicative strategies and resource strategies.It is studied by methods of questionnaire and interview and SPSS 19.0 statistics software which is used to do descriptive statistics and univariate analysis of variance on collected data.It aims to find out the differences of using English learning strategies between rural migrant children and urban children,between girls and boys of rural migrant children.We can drawn the following conclusions:First,the use of English learning strategies for rural migrant children in cities is at the middle and lower levels,and there are significant differences with urban children.The cognitive strategies,regulatory strategies,communication strategies and resource strategies of urban children are higher than those of rural migrant worker children in urban.In the future teaching,we should continue to strengthen the cognition and using of English learning strategies for rural migrant children.Second,girls of migrant children are better than boys in using English learning strategies.There are significant differences in cognitive strategies between girls and boys of migrant children,but no significant differences in regulatory strategies,communication strategies and resource strategies.This requires teachers to recognize and respect the psychological differences between boys and girls objectively,and analyze the different characteristics of boys and girls from the perspective of psychological development.We should implement the combination of teaching in accordance with the aptitude and gender differences to improve every student's English learning strategy in an all-round way.This can also make them benefit for life.Some problems can be found in the research,the author gives some suggestions.And the author hopes that schools,teachers and students will work together and bring out the best to improve their self-learning ability and their advantage in using English learning strategies.
