Callous-unemotional,including characteristics such like lacking of compassion,lacking of emotional expression and malicious use of other individuals,is a collective concept composed of emotion,interpersonal characteristics and behavior.It was used to distinguish psychopathic and nonpsychotic individuals in adult offenders.The Inventory of Callous-Unemotional Traits is a psychological scale that is used to measure the callous-unemotional trait,including three dimensions:callousness,uncaring and unemotional.The scale has the advantages of simple and convenient,but there are still some shortcomings in the measurement of the callous-unemotional trait.First,the stability of the three factor structure needs to be verified in different samples.In the previous studies,in addition to the three factor structure,they were also show that the scale is two factor structure or three factor bifactor structure.Secondly,there are few researches use the Inventory of Callous-unemotional Trait in college students.Previous studies on the callous-unemotional trait were mostly conducted among community samples,prison inmates and juvenile delinquency groups.Therefore,this study is aimed at revising the Inventory of Callous-unemotional Trait in Chinese college students,exploring the structure,reliability and validity of this scale.First,we done the revise of the translation of the Inventory of Callous-Unemotional Traits.Based on the content and description of the original English scale,Chinese culture and language habits,the Chinese translation of the scale is reviewed by psychological postgraduates and experts.We make sure that the expression is precise and the language is fluent and easy to understand.Then,the revised ICU was tested among Chinese college students.We made three revisions and the sample size was 1001,654 and 234 respectively.Specifically,in our first study,we carried out an exploratory factor analysis and a revision of the translation of the item was carried out according to the results.In study two,the newly revised scale was tested again,and confirmatory factor analysis was carried out.Based on the results,we revised the items again and decided the final scale.Studythree tested the reliability and validity of the final scale.The results showed that the revised Chinese version of the Inventory of Callous-Unemotional Traits had good reliability and validity in college students.In addition,the preliminary application of the scale was also carried out to study the relationship between the callous-unemotional trait and aggressive behavior of college students.The results of this study are turning out: first,the Chinese version of the Inventory of Callous-Unemotional Traits has 21 items and the 3 dimensions,callousness,uncaring and unemotional,are 10 items,8 items and 3 items.In this study,the internal consistency of three dimensions and total scale was 0.883,0.691,0.500 and 0.692 respectively.This scale was significantly correlated with the Agreeableness and Conscientiousness factors of Big-five personality scale,the Antisocial Process Screening Device,the Basic Empathy Scale,and The Levenson's Self-Report Psychopathy Scale.After controlling the correlation between reactive aggression and proactive aggression,the callous-unemotional trait can still predict proactive aggression significantly,but it cannot predict the reactive aggression.The revised Inventory of Callous-Unemotional Traits has a stable structure,good reliability and validity,which can be used as a tool for measuring the callous-unemotional trait of Chinese college students.
