Research On Lingnan Adherent Chen Gongyin’s Landscape Poetry

During the period when Ming was being replaced by Qing,numerous adherent poets poured their emotion into the landscape poems under the bleak atmosphere and high-pressure politic environment,expressing the sorrow to the old country and implying their unyielding integrity.As one of the “Three Masters of Lingnan” who was born in this background,Chen Gongyin also composed amounts of feature-length landscape poems.Combined with the temporal historic environment and Chen ’ s special experience,the work in this thesis is to make a multi-aspect discussion and form a systematic analysis about his landscape poems.This thesis is organized as follows: In the introduction section,we mainly discuss the origin and development of landscape poems,seek the tendency of aesthetic schools in Ming and Qing,introduce current researches about Chen and the definition of landscape poems,and point out the significance and the method in this topic.In Chapter One,we give an overview about the relation between Chen’s life and his landscape poems from the perspective of the intersection between poetics and historiography,analysis the influence of two long journeys experience on the composition of landscape poems,and present a point-to-area perspective about Chen’s seclusion life and social contact from his landscape poems.In Chapter Two,we focus on the relationship of local feature and literature,and emphasize the interaction between Chen’s landscape and the locality of Lingnan.Based on the natural and humanistic environment,we analysis the connection of landscape poems and locality,and point out the effect of Lingnan adherent poem schools and the style of groupment on the composition of landscape poems.In Chapter Three,we expound the Chen’s dominant structure and formation of personality in the aesthetics of landscape,including seeking for the shelter from reality by acting as a recluse,seeking for a forget-everything state by view the universe,and breaking the limit from the sorrowful life in the scenery of landscape.In Chapter Four,we protrude the aesthetic feature of Chen’s landscape poems from the style,prospect and skill.Chapter Five summerizes the inheritance of Chen ’ s landscape poems to the former poems.By comparing Chen’s landscape poems with diverse of poems and the landscape poems of “Three Masters of Lingnan”,we protrude their position in theLingnan poetic society and poetic society of early Qing Dynasty,and point out the deep influence of these poems on the landscape poem composition of the later generation.
