Research Of Language Dictionary Of Dunhuang Literature

The Language Dictionary of Dunhuang Literature,edited by Jiang Li-hong,writeen by Huang Zheng,Zhang Yong-quan,Yu Zhong-xin,Fang Yi-xin,Yan Qia-mao,has been published by Hangzhou University press in 1994.The dictionary summarizes the research of Dunhuang literature,complement and integrate it with the authors' own creative viewpoints on the base of the researches of scholars of the past and contemporaries,has been becoming an important reference for the research of Dunhuang.At the sametime,the dictionary also has some shortcomings in phonetic notation,explanation and quotation,which unavoidably affect its accuracy and value in use.The paper makes a relatively meticulous research of the dictionary from the view of dictionary research and literature arrangement.By referring the achievements of the scholars and collating the original volumes of Dunhuang documents and ancient books,we study the achievements and shortcomings of the dictionary and offer some fine proposals to the latter revise of it.The body of this paper is divided into three chapters:The first chapter mainly elaborates the achievements the dictionary has made from the angle of explanations and cites,including correcting other books' mistakes in quotes and explanations.The second chapter chiefly describes the mistakes of the phonetic notation,the inaccuracy and lack of explanation and the error texts,the missing words,the unwanted words and the reversal words of the quotes by comparing the dictionary to some large reference books and some authorized publications.The third chapter points out some issues the dictionary has,like the disorders of style,punctuation and character and makes some relative suggestions.
