The selective accessibility model holds that the individual usually tests the similarity between the self and the norm,or the difference test. However, the similarity test is mainly about the similarities and differences between self information and norm information, and the similarity with normal information will produce assimilation effect, which will have a contrast effect with the difference of norm information. In this study, two experiments were conducted to explore the assimilation effect of junior high school students on emotion, perceived competence and self-esteem.In study 1,by 2(before and after the test)?4(performance approach goal and performance avoidance goal, mastery approach goal, mastery avoidance goal)between subjects design to verify the different achievement goal of junior high school students in the upstream comparison for emotion, perceived competence and the negative influence of self-esteem.In Study 2,by 2(before and after the test)? 2(mastery approach goal, performance approach goal)?3(the same information focus, information focus and different focus)repeated measures, within subjects factors were measured before and after, between subject factors for achievement goals, information focus. It is verified that concentrating attention on similarity can stimulate positive mental responses of junior high school students to achieve upward comparison, and reduce negative effects of upward comparison. The results show that:Firstly, when individuals compare upward society, negative information has negative effects on four types of achievement goal junior high school students' emotional reaction, perceived competence and self-esteem;Secondly,when the junior high school students are compared with different achievement goals,in the face of adverse information feedback, mastering the approach goal is the least negative influenced by the contrast effect among the four goals;Thirdly, when individuals are in the upward social comparison, under the three conditions of similarity, difference and no information concern, junior high school students whose achievement is close to their goals and those who are close to goals have the least negative influence on emotion, perceived competence and self-esteem when they are concerned about similar information.
