The Study Of Northwest Strategies And Northwest Silk-Road In Early Period Of Tang Dynasty

Since the Tang Dynasty brought about several glorious ages,such as “the Governing of the Zhen'guan Emperor”,“the Governing of the Zetian Emperor”and ”the Prosperous Time of Kai'yuan”,the prosperous political,economical and cultural strength attracted numerous overseas countries.Also the influence continues today.Nowadays,the impression of China in overseas places is largely influenced by the Tang culture,Tang people and Chinatown are very good cases in point.The far-reaching influence on the then and later generations was inseparable from the superiority of the early emperor of the Tang Dynasty,the managements and strategies used in the frontier ethnic groups and the surrounding regimes.Among them,the management and strategies are particularly important.The Northwest Silk Road is one of the oldest and most important traffic routes in China.It serves as the most important and strategies land route among Chinese and European regions,and whether it's unobstructed or not is largely influenced by political factors,such as the relationship between the Tang dynasty and the ethnic regimes along the way.There are many researches on the relations between the northwest nationalities and the Northwest Silk Road in the early Tang Dynasty,but there are still some omissions,it's obvious that most of the studies and researches are fragmented with short period of time and small conceptions.For instance,most the studies of the ethnic issues in the northwest regions are tends to the political measures adopted by the Tang Dynasty and the following influence in these places;and the researches on the Northwest Silk Road are mainly in the aspects of traffic,economic and trade etc,there is a lack of holistic research.Especially,the research on the bilateral influence of the strategies adopted in the northwest frontiers and the prosperous of the Northwest Silk Road is still a little weak.In this paper,the starting points are the policies and measures taken in the northwest regions in the early period of Tang Dynasty(hereinafter refers as the Northwest Strategies),and to explore the bilateral influence on both the Northwest strategies and the Northwest Silk Road.The first chapter starts from the strategic background of the northwest regions of Tang Dynasty,including the territories' changing between Tang and the main ethnic regimes in the northwest regions,and the wars and relations between them.The second chapter analyzes the importance of strategical location and the strategical objectives of the northwest regions of Tang Dynasty,and summarizes the series of strategical measures taken taken in these places,including: strong military actions,and the establish of the full range of security systems.The third chapter analyzes the bilateral influence of the Northwest Strategies and the development of Northwest Silk Road,Points out that the implementation of the strategies have greatly influenced the development of social economy of the northwest regions,and created a good stable social environment along the Northwest Silk Road,which promoted the trade,comprehensive prosperity and development,and maintenance the harmonious ethnic relations.And the prosperity and development of the Northwest Silk Road,in turn,helped the Tang Dynasty rule the western regions effectively,further implement the northwest security strategies,and provided economical and cultural support to maintain national stability and unity,and established a unified multinational country.
