This study aims to explore the mediating roles of self-control and interpersonal adaptability in the relationship between self-esteem and mobile phone addiction tendency.A total of 600 college students from 4 colleges in Heilongjiang province were surveyed by Self-Esteem Scale(SES),Self-Control Scale(SCS),Interpersonal Adaptability Inventory(CSIAI),Mobile Phone Addiction Tendency Scale(MPATS).Results showed that:(1)The score of self-esteem has significant gender differences in college students,and the score of the male students was significantly lower than that of the female;multi factor variance analysis showed that the only child's self-esteem level significantly higher than non student self-esteem.(2)The total score and dimension score of self-control ability of college students have significant gender differences.The self control ability of male students was significantly lower than female;the students self control has significant difference in grade level,the ability of self-control in the third grade is better than in the other grades,and the ability of self-control in the second grade is better than that in the third grade.(3)The interpersonal adaptability of college students has significant gender differences,interpersonal adaptability of boys was significantly lower than that of girls;by multivariate analysis of variance found in interpersonal adaptability of college students,only child or not and the interaction of students interpersonal adaptability is significant,interpersonal adaptability of the only child is higher than non only child students,interpersonal adaptability of urban students is significantly higher than that of rural students.(4)The tendency of mobile phone addiction among college students has significant gender difference,and the score of male students was significantly higher than that of female students;through multiple factor analysis of variance,it was found that there was no significant interaction between the only child or not and the birthplace.(5)Correlation analysis showed that the scores of addiction tendency were negatively correlated with self-esteem,self control and interpersonal adaptability,and the score of self-control was positively correlated with interpersonal adaptability.(6)SEM analysis showed that self-esteem,self-control and interpersonal adaptability can significantly predict the level of mobile phone addiction,and self-esteem could affect the mobile phone addiction tendency through self-control and interpersonal adaptability.
