A Study On The Errors In English Writings Of Senior One Students

This study is based on the contrastive analysis,error analysis and interlanguage theories and reviews different views on the writing errors analysis at home and abroad.Based on this,the article adopts the method of combining qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis.Then analyzing writing errors of senior one students that the writer has collected by using data statistics to sum up the different types of errors.And then the writer analyzes the causes of these errors,combining with questionnaires,interviews and think aloud method.After that,the writer puts forward some feasible teaching strategies and suggestions for English writing to reduce the students' writing errors and improve students' writing skills,the quality of the teachers' writing teaching and English education in senior high school.According to the study,the writer concludes that the English writing errors of senior one students can be classified into the following types: word spelling,misuse of vocabulary,collocation,verb errors,preposition errors,pronoun errors,article errors,morphology errors,mechanical translation,absence of conjunctions,omission of sentence elements and run-on sentences.Among these error types,the main problem is the errors of verb.The causes of these errors are interlingual transfer,intralingual transfer,the lack of students' writing interests,the improper writing strategies of students,the bad attitudes of errors correction for students,the shortcomings of teachers' writing training methods and single writing correction method.According to the previous research results and the writer's own internship experience in teaching,the writer tries to put forward some strategies on teaching and learning of English writing,such as emphasizing differences between English and Chinese to reduce interlingual transfer errors;mastering the basic knowledge to reduce the intralingual transfer errors;stimulating students' writing interests and cultivating students' good attitudes towards errors correction;reinforcing the correct language input and increasing the chance of language output;enriching the means of writing correction and optimizing the writing training methods.There are six chapters in this paper.Chapter one: introduction;Chapters two: literature review;Chapter three: the empirical study on the types of English writing errors of senior one students;Chapter four: the causes analysis of senior one students' errors in English Writing;Chapter five:teaching strategies and suggestions to avoid senior one students' errors in English writing;and Chapter six: conclusion.
