As the guarantee of the resources reserve of the English output,great reading ability can be regarded as one of the most important English skill.But reading is often considered by learners to be the most difficult part of the basic English skills.In order to help students to reduce English reading barriers,reading teaching should be paid more attention.As the deepening of language researching,prefabricated chunks strategy arouses more and more attention.This kind of holistic language structure with grammatical and lexical features is of great help to language acquisition.However,the three major directions of English writing,vocabulary even oral English teaching,these three major directions,are the concentrated areas of the researches which focus on prefabricated chunks.There is still lacking in the study of prefabricated chunks and English reading,especially the specific reading teaching in senior high school.This paper adopts the empirical research method to confirm the effectiveness of prefabricated chunks strategy in senior high school English reading teaching.The author conducted an experimental investigation in Class 8 and Class 9 in Grade 1 of the senior high school affiliated to Harbin Normal University.There are 101 students in these two classes.The author used reading teaching with prefabricated chunks for 51 students in Class 8(experimental class),and used traditional reading teaching for the 50 students in Class 9(constant class).In order to increase the objectivity of the result of the experiment,the author understood the students of Class 8 by the questionnaires before and after the experiment,all the students of the two classes by reading comprehension tests before and after the experiment,three students of 9 class and the intrinsic English teacher of the two classes by interviews after the experiment in the specific 13 weeks.In order to ensure the effectiveness of the result,all the obtained experimental dates were verified by spss22.0 on the reliability,validity and differences and analyzed by excel.The results of this investigation showed that the reading comprehension score after the experiment of Class 8 was significantly higher than that of Class 9.Besides,the students and intrinsic teacher all give positive feedback on the reading teaching with prefabricated chunks strategy.The experimental results show that prefabricated chunks have positive influence on English reading teaching in senior high school.The results confirm the research hypothesis of this paper:Prefabricated chunks are used in senior high school English reading teaching,1.From the perspective of students,it can optimize the system of reading thinking and improve the quality of reading comprehension.2.From the perspective of teachers,it can regulate the rhythm of reading teaching and enhance the effect of reading teaching.Due to the limited conditions,this paper is still inadequate and needs to be improved.
