A Report On The Translation Of The Excerpts Of New Ice And Snow Culture Of Olympic Winter Games

Nowadays,Chinese tourism industry is developing rapidly in the background of globalization.Our country has attracted a large number of foreign friends to visit for its cultural characteristics.Due to ever-increasing foreign tourists,it's necessary to make foreigners know more about our folk cultures.So tourism translation will play a role as a bridge between different cultures.Because of the booming development of translation industry in our country,it is challenging for Chinese-English translation.This paper is a practice report on translation from Chinese to English introducing the ice and snow culture of Heilongjiang.It is based on the fifth chapter of New Ice and Snow Culture of Olympic Winter Games,through the combination of theory and practice research method to figure out the difficulties and strategies during the process of translating.The author fully considers the reading habits of the target language readers and the cultural features of the source language in the process of translation to do a little bit contribution for the development of Heilongjiang tourism and local culture.The author hopes that the paper will provide some reference for the similar study of tourism text translation.This practice report consists of four parts.The first chapter makes an introduction to the task of translation and the requirements of the client.The second chapter is the description of the process of translation task,which includes pre-translation preparation,translation process,and post translation.The third chapter is case study with the guidance of communicative translation theory.The author carefully uses the combination of theory and practice to analyze the representative cases from linguistic and cultural level.The fourth chapter is the summary of translation practice.The author summarizes the shortcomings during the process of translation practice from several aspects.The author hopes to improve translating skills and analyzing abilities through this practice report.
