In recent years,with the gradual implementation of the new curriculum reform and the advance of modern education technology,classroom teaching mode has gradually changed from teacher-centered to student-centered.However,the recent investigation and researches have revealed that most senior high school English teachers still adopt the traditional teaching mode that requires students to mechanically recite the grammar and do excessive grammar exercises to enhance their grammar ability,resulting in students' resistance to grammar learning.Hence,in an attempt to solve the current problems,a simple but vital aid tool-Mind Map comes into being.The concept of Mind Map was first proposed and popularized by Tony Buzan,whose core idea is to use more intuitive and visual ways to present knowledge to assist learning and memory.Based on the embedded points of the Mind Map and the theoretical basis of schema theory,knowledge visualization and constructivism,this study applies Mind Map to the English grammar teaching in high school,aiming to explore the positive role of Mind Map in teaching.In order to achieve this research goal,this study sets the following research questions: 1).What influence does the mode of Mind Map combined with English grammar teaching in high school have on students' learning interest and learning efficiency? 2).What's students' attitude towards the teaching mode integrating English grammar with Mind Map?This research carried out a teaching experiment from March 6th to June 30 th in 2017 in Pulandian No.2 middle school in Dalian.During the experiment,the research subjects included 96 students in two parallel classes,class 8 and class 9,which were respectively chosen as the experimental class and the control class.In the experimental class,the mind map was applied to English grammar teaching,while the control class implemented the traditional problem leading teaching.In this research,three kinds of research tools including test,questionnaire and interview are used to solve the research problems.The data is analyzed by using SPSS 16.0.This study finds that the application of Mind Map in high school English grammar teaching can improve students' learning interest and efficiency.It enables students to take a positive attitude towards the new teaching mode of integrating Mind Map with English grammar teaching in high school.The implication of this study is that by exploring the application of Mind Map in English grammar teaching in high school,it has some enlightenment to boost the efficiency of English grammar teaching in high school as well as other aspects of teaching efficiency.
