As an imported product,oil painting was brought to China by Matteo Ricci,an Italian missionary,as early as the 16 th century.This foreign art form experienced ups and downs for hundreds of years,until the 1930 s,it was rooted in the fertile soil of the East by Mr.Li Tiefu.Only then did many Chinese painters,such as Liu Haisu,Xu Beihong,Feng Gangbai,go abroad to further study one after another,and bring the oil painting skills learned to China to spread and develop this foreign art form in China.After the founding of New China,Chinese oil painting has taken its own unique steps on the road of localization.During the period of cultural revolution,all literary and artistic activities served the needs of workers,peasants,soldiers and politics,which made this art become a means of promoting revolution.In the 1980 s,reform and opening-up brought about new artistic trends of thought,especially Luo Zhongli under the influence of American super realist painter Close,and Chen Danqing,who was famous for "Tibetan Paintings",were all handed down from the West.All realistic painting techniques are the main,and the performance of the screen focuses on real life,with a strong humanistic color,then set off a huge wave in the art world;today,realist oil painting in the process of development in China,it still has a unique artistic status.This paper takes the painters of neo-realism painting language as the object of study,such as Chen Danqing and Luo Zhongli,who create with realism as an example,in order to carry out research on Liu Xiaodong,Yu Hong,Xin Dongwang and other neo-realism painters,and to study and analyze realism and neo-realism in oil painting language by means of comparative analysis,literature review and other methods.The characteristics of realism,the significance of existence is also valuable.Hope to interpret the characteristics of realistic oil painting language expression in the new realistic oil painting from the aesthetic point of view.Through the study of the painter Xin Dongwang's oil painting language,the final conclusion is drawn-the epochal characteristics of painting language.There are different opinions on the viewpoint that "easel painting is dead".In order to enrich the academic research,to a certain extent,for the development of Chinese oil painting.
