On The Evolutionary Logic And Cause Of Scientific Thought Of Zhang Taiyan

In the late Qing Dynasty,during the period of Western learning,Zhang Taiyan was a representative figure.His academic thoughts were integrated into the ancient and modern Chinese and Western learning.In terms of science,he has made a lot of beneficial absorption and interpretation of Western scientific knowledge based on traditional culture.Therefore,studying the evolution of Zhang Taiyan's scientific thought and its causes can reflect the internal logic of modern intellectuals rejection of Western science.Zhang Taiyan's scientific thoughts in his life can be divided into three stages.The early scientific ideas were mainly concentrated in the"Notes of the Psalam Room.His understanding of VWestern science is roughly limited to the level of artifacts.In lhis scientific thoughts,he showed more about the inheritance of the intellectual knowledge of Qianjia Sinology.In the middle period,he entered the road from the device and began to consciously construct scientific knowledge to maintain Chinese and Western traditions.A balance can be reached between tradition and modernity.In the third stage,due to the crises and problems that appeared in Western science itself,Zhang Taiyan began to deconstruct the original reason and knowledge with the theory of homogeneity,and finally entered a way that was contrary to the previous intellectual theory.This subtle change of attitude toward Western science was quite representative of the intellectuals of the time.The reason for this change is mainly due to the limits of reason itself and the confusion between metaphysics and science.From the three stages of Zhang Taiyan's scientific thought,there are roughly three reasons to reflect on the problems that have emerged in the process of modern science in China.First,practical reason suppressed the further development of instrumental rationality in the game of instrumental rationality,because Confucianism mainly involved human values and the most basic practical needs at the beginning,and practical rationality developed in the early stages will promote the development of science and technology.But at the same time,it will also suppress the production of tool rationality.Second,the scientific autonomy and social imbalance.Because modern science put too much emphasis on sociality in the process of'dissemination,it caused the distortion of.the meani.ng of'scientific words when graFfting Western scientific words,and the interference with the socizalization of science caused the lack of'intrinsic motivation of science.'Third,because there is an exclusive f'ree feature in traditional culture,this free f'eature can appear as a conservative face,but it can also become extremely radical.This unfree feature caused the lack of scientif'ic spirit,which eventually caused problems in the embryonic stage of'scientific development,and also provided a possibility for the subsequent breaking and deconstruction of intellectual theory.The internal logic of Zhang taiyan's scientific thought development was undoubtedly universal among intellectuals at that time.Therefore,the analysis of the reasons for the change of the attitude of rejection of Western science profoundly explained the existing problems in the development and dissemination of modern science.
