The development of information technology has brought about a revolution in education.More and more courses in primary and secondary schools have been integrated with information technology. The arrival of the information age, first of all,put forward higher requirements for students' information literacy. As the main force of the development of The Times, students use information technology to learn knowledge which is one of the basic ability of today's middle school students. At the same time, teachers should give full play to the advantages of information technology in teaching. The emergence of flipped classroom mode combines education and modern technology better.According to the learning situation of students, teachers make targeted learning videos and learning guide sheets in advance.Students mainly learn by themselves after class, while teachers take guidance as supplement in class, which makes learning more flexible and active and increases students' participation. This is also consistent with constructivist learning theory and autonomous learning theory, that is,learning should not only be a passive acceptance of knowledge granted by teachers, but also an active construction activity of learners based on their existing knowledge and experience. This paper studied a large number of relevant domestic and foreign literature, deeply understood the research status of flipped classroom, combined with the teaching situation of junior middle school English in China and then applied the flipped classroom teaching mode to English teaching. In this study, two parallel classes of Xiyuan School in Xin 'an county, where the author teaches, were selected as the research objects by means of experiment, questionnaire survey and interview. The experimental class adopted the flipped classroom model, and the control class adopted the traditional teaching model to conduct teaching. The experiment lasted for one semester.SPSS software was used to analyze the results of students in the experimental class and the control class at the end of the first semester and the second semester.Atthe same time, this study also used questionnaires to find out whether this experiment could promote students' interest, ability and confidence in English learning. The first questionnaire survey was conducted on the two classes before the experiment, and the second questionnaire survey was conducted on the two classes after the experiment. The content was designed in terms of students' interest in learning English, learning ability and learning attitude, etc. Finally, the results of the two questionnaires were compared and analyzed. At the end of the semester,a case study was conducted on nine representative students of the experimental class, namely, the senior group, the intermediate group and the junior group.Three teachers of flipped classroom teaching in other classes were interviewed. This study shows: Flipped classroom model provides a new method and idea for teaching research and development. It enables teachers to more adapt to the requirements of the current society for teachers and meet the learning requirements of students growing in the information age.The application of flipped classroom in junior middle school English teaching stimulates students' learning interest, fully mobilizes their learning initiative, improves their learning ability and finally makes progress in overall performance. Finally, this study summarizes some major findings of the implementation of flipped classroom and its implications for students' English learning as well as teachers and teaching. The limitations and shortcomings of this study,as well as the prospects for future research, are described in this paper. This study will, hopefully, make a difference to the future study in the English teaching in junior high school.
