| Ten Year Development Plan of Education Information(2011-2020)puts forward that modern educational technology and teaching resources should be fully used to innovate teaching methods and learning methods.The new curriculum reform emphasizes that teachers should stimulate students’ interest in learning and the spirit of exploration,motivating them to engage with their works and learn to cooperative with others in practice.The teaching procedure should not only focus on imparting knowledge,but also pay attention to cultivate students’ abilities of various aspects.With the help of network information technology,FC-PBT model combines English teaching with the real life,carrying out English teaching through the implementation of specific projects,so that students can realize the acquisition of English knowledge and the improvement of various abilities in the process of completing projects.This model conforms to the trend of educational informatization and embodies the idea of new curriculum reform.It can effectively solve the problems existing in junior middle school English,including students’ little interest in learning,relatively week higher order thinking skills and the unsatisfactory teaching effect.Accordingly,the application research about FC-PBT model is carried out with the aim of changing the current situation of English teaching in junior middle school and improve the teaching effect of it.This research explores the following three questions:(1)Can FC-PBT model improve students’ high order thinking skills?(2)Can FC-PBT model improve students’ English scores?(3)What are students’ viewpoints about FC-PBT model?According to the New Curriculum Standards for Junior School English,FC-PBT model supported by network information technology is designed based on constructivism learning theory and pragmatism education theory,including the basic structure of flipped classroom and project-based teaching.Then this model is applied in junior English teaching to deeply explore the teaching effect of it.FC-PBT model consists of pre-class preparation stage,in-class organization stage and post-class summary stage.And this model includes five steps: project selection,project plan,project implementation,project presentation and formative assessment.These five steps are interrelated and progressive,forming a complete teaching procedure.In view of the research questions,two parallel classes of junior two in Tianshui Yi-fu Middle School are selected as research subjects for 16 weeks.During the experiment,FC-PBT model is applied in experimental class,while traditional teaching model is applied in control class.Questionnaire method and interview method are adopted to study theexperimental class students’ higher order thinking skills and their viewpoints about FC-PBT model.Besides,this research compares and analyzes the English scores of the two classes before and after the experiment to explore the influence of FC-PBT model on students’ English scores.The results show that the FC-PBT model can cultivate students’ higher order thinking skills and improve their English scores,which has been widely recognized by the students.Most students agree that FC-PBT model can effectively stimulate their interest in learning and cultivate their abilities of communication,autonomous learning,cooperative learning and so on. |
