Study On The Phenomenon Of Phonetic Elements Which Were Classified In Different Ancient Rhyme Parts In Shuowen Jiezi Zhu And Pictophonetic Characters Table

There are 109 phonetic elements which were classified in different ancient rhyme parts in Shuowen Jiezi Zhu and Pictophonetic Characters Table.As for this,some people argued that this phenomenon is Duan Yucai's mistake,and some people believed the key reason that pictophonetic Characters Table was finished before Shuowen Jiezi Zhu.But some people insisted that this phenomenon caused by polyphones.These statements still need further research.The paper will focus on the 109 phonetic elements which were classified in different ancient rhyme parts in Shuowen Jiezi Zhu and pictophonetic Characters Table,and analyze the ways of ancient rhyme parts of Duan Yucai's classification.The conclusion of the study is that a few is Duan's mistakes while most of is polyphones.The paper is divided into four parts for research.The introduction part mainly introduce the background,research status,the purpose and significance.The second part leads to the research object by comparing Shuowen Jiezi Zhu and pictophonetic Characters Table.The third part,we reanalysed the connotation of theory that pictophonetic characters with the same consonant certainly belong to the same rhyme part.This theory was suitable for the beginning of creating pictophonetic characters.As for the ancient rhyme parts of homophone characters' assignment,there are another principles.The fourth part,the 109 phonetic elements will be divided into three categories according to the situation of homophone characters in Shuowen Jiezi Zhu.29 phonetic elements without their homophone characters;32 phonetic elements that with their homophone characters were classified into the same ancient rhyme parts;48 phonetic series that with their homophone characters were classified into different ancient rhyme parts.By analyzing the ways of classification in ancient rhyme parts of this phonetic elements and their homophone characters.We draw a conclusion: the key reason of the phenomenon is only a few on account of Duan's mistakes while most of is polyphones.
