With the continuous improvement of information technology,combined with the computers,electronic whiteboard and voice device,the Pad plays an increasingly important role in teaching.A number of fundamental teaching models have evolved on the basis of the functions and applications of the Pad,which changes the way of classroom teaching and enriches the teaching philosophy,especially compared with the traditional teaching method.That is why different teaching modes have come into being.This study tries to explore how to apply the Pad to English teaching in junior middle school,whether it helps to improve students' learning motivation and strategies.Meanwhile,this study analyzes the advantages of English teaching through the Pad.This thesis describes the background,significance and purpose.It elaborates the Constructivist Learning Theory,Affective Filter Hypothesis and Multimodal Interaction Analysis Theory to support this research.Meanwhile,it analyzes and summarizes the relevant research result home and abroad on applying the Pad to teaching English in middle school.The methods of this study are the questionnaire survey,classroom observation and the experimental methodology.It does a detailed analysis of the feedback on applying the Pad and illustrates the teaching procedures and learning efficiency by observing several classes.The students are tested before and after teaching with the Pad so that it can be known whether it has a distinct effect on students' learning.This study also proposes the teaching strategies on applying the Pad.Teachers can carry out the interest-based teaching mode according to the contents.They may choose suitable applications and functions of the Pad to demonstrate instant results.Meanwhile,simplifying the teaching procedures can help increase the interactive time.The findings of the study are as follows.Firstly,the author proves that the application of the Pad to teaching is popular among students through the questionnaire survey.The reasons why students prefer teaching with the Pad are that it makes teaching more vivid and interesting,helps create more activities and resources and gives faster feedback on the exercises and the students' performance.But a small percentage of the subjects do not like teaching with the Pad so much because they think it does learning no good and it may distract students.Secondly,the application of the Pad used in English teaching proves to be effective.The result of the experiment demonstrates that applying the Pad to teaching English has improved the students' academic performance.Thirdly,the application of the Pad helps realize the various and creative input of the target language,which consequently promotes in-take.
