Textual Coherence In Chinese-English Translation And Strategies

Translation is not only a process of information transmission,but also a transformation of thinking.During the translation of A Study of Jewish Refugees in China(1933-1945):History,Theories and the Chinese Pattern,a book about Jews in China during World War II to be published abroad,the author found that the text has a strong narrative feature,while the language of its theoretical part is rigorous and formal.Therefore,how to ensure text coherence of different parts on the basis of accurate and complete information transmission has attracted the author.Based on the case study of its translation,this paper provides three translation strategies to promote the text coherence,namely using cohesion methods,analyzing logic and improving textual awareness.
