Fushan County Saigeda Village Dialect Island Language Variation Research

Saigeta located in the southeast of Fushan County of Linfen,Shanxi Province,is a typical immigrant country with the immigrants mainly coming from Henan's Linzhou/Huaxian and fewer coming from Shandong / Hebei province or Inner Mongolia and other places.With the passage of time,a language system differing from the surrounding dialects formed because of the fusion of the immigration's language and local dialects.Saigeta as an immigrant village has not been studied by scholars yet.This paper conduct a comprehensive description on immigration dialect phonetic system by researching Saigeta's resettlement;by comparing the phonetic of immigrant dialect and source dialect,Fushan dialect,this paper will explore change of immigration's dialect phonetic;this paper will explore the variation of dialect island using the relevant theories of sociolinguistics and investigation method.This paper is divided into six chapters:Chapter 1 is the introduction mainly introducing the background,purpose,significance of this paper,and the status and dynamics of the research on dialect islands both at home and abroad.Secondly,Saigeta's geographical position,property and immigration,custom,the reasons of immigration will be introduced.Finally,the research method and research process of the paper will be introduced briefly.Chapter 2 describes the phonetic system of dialect including tone sandhi etc.of Saigeta,dialect.Chapter 3 makes a comparison of phonetics/vocabulary and grammar to find out the differences on the basic of describing Fushan and Linzhou phonetic system,and lays the foundation for the social linguistic analysis of chapter 4.Chapter 4 uses the method of social linguistics describes current usage condition of Saigeta and try to find the internal language's evolution direction and the change causes.Chapter 5 makes conclusion for the dialect island formation causes and its development trend.
