Research On The Characteristics And Development Of Loanwords From Japanese In Chinese

Loanwords from Japanese in Chinese refer to the loanwords directly derived from Japanese in Chinese,which have a special position in the Chinese vocabulary system and are deeply controversial.Based on the previous research results,this paper reconfirms and defines the characteristics of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese.By retrospecting the development of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese,we counted the words in the two climaxes of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese,and established the glossary of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese used in the early 21st century.On this basis,the characteristics of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese at each stage and their current linguistic features are summarized,and their influences on Chinese usage and people's daily life are explored.This paper consists of five parts,the specific contents are as follows:The first part leads to the topic of the paper.Reviewing the previous studies on this topic and drawing on the achievements of many scholars,this paper determines the three directions of focus:the determination of the characteristics of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese,the stage arrangement and data integration.This part also expounds the significance of the topic in theory and reality,and explains the research methods and data sources.In the second part,the main controversial points about the characteristics of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese are analyzed one by one,and the three criteria of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese are clarified,that is,"the word has entered the Chinese vocabulary system","the word originally belongs to the Japanese vocabulary system,which directly enters Chinese from Japanese" and "the word belongs to loanwords.The third part combs the history of the emergence and development of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese.According to the number of words,it can be divided into three stages:the period of germination and accumulation(around the 4th century to the mid-19th century),the period of the first climax(mid-19th century to the end of 1970s)and the period of the second climax(from the end of 1970s to the present),and the causes,appearances and remarkable characteristics of the two climaxes are analyzed.In the fourth part,modern Chinese dictionary(7th edition)and BCC Chinese corpus(diachronic search)are used to search loanwords from Japanese in Chinese in the two climax periods,forming a glossary of commonly used loanwords from Japanese in Chinese in the early 21st century.It also describes the general appearance of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese from the characteristics of types,phonetic features,semantic features and grammatical features.The fifth part describes the influence of loanwords from Japanese in Chinese on Chinese usage and Chinese daily life.Vocabulary is the material of language,the carrier of culture and the product of society.As an important part of Chinese vocabulary,loanwords from Japanese in Chinese not only have an impact on Chinese language and Chinese life,but also bring us more enlightenment to treat foreign cultures.
