A Report On The Tourist Interpreting Practice In Visiting Anshan Jade Buddha Temple

This thesis is a report on the tourist interpreting practice in 2018 China ?Hungary Friendship Week.The author,entrusted by Shenyang Normal University and Liaoning Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries provided tourist interpreting service for Hungarian Puppet Group who were performing in Liaoning Grand Theater.The task is mainly to introduce Jade Buddha Temple in Anshan to the Group,which requires the author to master the name of the Buddha and interpreting strategies.In this report,the author briefly introduced the Effort Model for consecutive interpreting proposed by Daniel Gile and analyzed the production process.During production process of this interpreting task,three interpreting problems,namely long sentences,repetition and cultural terms,have increased interpreting pressure and decreased production efficiency.In this report,in order to relieve the interpreting working pressure and improve the efficiency of production process,the author has studied the interpretation script along with the feature of flexibility of reformulation strategy and feature of high pressure of tourist interpreting.Then,three reformulation strategies have been applied including division strategy,simplification strategy and addition strategy.In the final analysis,the author put forward that these strategies should be used coordinately to achieve efficient production in tourist interpreting.
