| As one branch of geography,humanist geography is a discipline that explores the geographical distribution,divergence and change of various human phenomena,and it is also the formation and development of the regional structure of human social activities.In the process of MTI degree training,the author participated in the translation of Humanist Geography: An Individual's Search For Meaning,a representative work of internationally renowned writer Yi-Fu Tuan.During the translation process,the translator found out that the translation can be carried out under the guidance of aesthetic theory.In this thesis,Liu Miqing's translation aesthetics theory was used as the guide theory.And translating works were carried out from the aspects of the aesthetic subject,aesthetic object,the formal and non-formal systems,under the principle of aesthetic representation to realize the reproduction of aesthetic value of the original works.At the same time,the translator firmly grasps the aesthetic factors in phonetics,syntax,vocabulary,artistic conception and the literary style.However,having the theoretical guidance is not enough for translation practice,the translator should master the differences in culture,language,and customs which are difficult for him to grasp the aesthetic value in translating human geography books.For the translation object,the translator hardly grasps the formal and non-formal metaphorical content of the original text.The discipline of human geography is full of philosophical thoughts,beautiful words and intense logical thinking.These characteristics and the aesthetic representation requirements of the aesthetic value of translation demand that the translator should ensure the integrity of original contents if he wants to finish a good translation work of human geography.And the translator must pay attention to the aesthetic requirements of the target language readers.Therefore,its translation can be carried out under the guidance of aesthetic theory. |
