The protection of cultural heritage is a hot topic in recent years,and the digitization of heritages is an important means of cultural heritage protection.The 3D reconstruction and texture mapping technology can reproduce the high-fidelity of heritages in the computer.Based on the practical application background,this paper proposes an improved method for the key problems of realism restoration existing in the current texture mapping technology,and improves the quality of digital heritages.This paper firstly reviews the background of the digitization of heritages and three-dimensional reconstruction technology.Based on the analysis of existing 3D reconstruction technology and texture mapping technology,the following work is emphasized:(1)In this paper,the memory mapping analysis of the existing texture mapping technology is carried out.In the texture mapping of large-scale scenes,due to the memory shortage caused by the excessive number of faces,a method of faces grouping is proposed.The method can calculation for large-scale scenes with higher scale or precision under the same memory capacity.(2)In this paper,a new texture quality function is proposed,which optimized the view's quality problem for view selection algorithm in texture mapping,and automatically selects more appropriate images for texture mapping,enhances the texture's realism and accuracy.(3)The texture mapping software system integrating the above two methods is designed and implemented.The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by applying practical cases.In summary,the proposed texture mapping system based on faces grouping and best texture quality function can face and calculate more complex scenes,higher precision 3D models,and achieve more realistic texture mapping effects.
