The research object of this paper is the study of the Myanmar Chinese Textbook Buddhist Textbook(1-4 Volumes)in the early 1980 s.This textbook is a comparative primary textbook between Chinese and Myanmar under the historical background of policies of appeasement for Chinese language from the Myanmar government.This paper is divided into four chapters:The first chapter is the introduction,which briefly describes the research object,research significance,research status as well as the adopted theories,methods and literature sources.The second chapter summarizes the circumstance of the Chinese education in Myanmar at the end of World War II,while briefly describes the background and circulation of the Buddhist Textbook and gives a general introduction and description of compiling style and main content.The third chapter analyzes the number,emphasis,teaching methods and arrangement features of the vocabulary of Buddhist Textbook while briefly describes the vocabulary difficulties and recurrence rate.The fourth chapter studies the sentence teaching of Buddhist Textbook.including sentence patterns and categories,which focuses on the analysis of single sentences and clauses like Shi-Sentences,Ba-Sentences,connective sentences and compound sentences,then evaluates the teaching results of the declarative and interrogative sentences in the sentence categories.The fifth chapter is the summary chapter,which makes a basic evaluation of the contents of the Buddhist Textbook,and evaluates the advantages and disadvantages of the textbook.
