A Study On Lou Yue's Traveling And Sightseeing Poems

From ancient times till now,"Travel" and "live" have always been two major states of people's life.In the course of traveling and sightseeing,people's thoughts,emotions and cultural psychology are presented in the literary works that they have made at the same time.As a main literary form,traveling and sightseeing poems record the experience of going sightseeing.y comparison with other forms like essay and “Fu”(a special Chinese ancient literary form),this kind of poems excels in emotional and artistic details.Therefore,almost all Chinese writers used this form to creat fantastic poems through the ages,especially in the southern song dynasty.As one of the important poets in this dynasty,Lou Yue created a number of traveling poems and sightseeing poems,which can not only reflect the traveling path and psychological activities in Lou Yue's life,but also reflect his poetic thoughts and cultural psychology.The main body of this paper consists of five chapters.The first chapter mainly defines and classifies Lou Yue's traveling and sightseeing poems,and summarizes the ideological contents.The second chapter analyses Lou Yue's traveling poems,which include a fair amount of poems that reflect the emotion and cultural aesthetic psychology of the poet when he serves as an envoy to Jin Dynasty.The comparison between these poems and the journal called Northbound Daily Record is one of the contents of the paper.The traveling poems in other periods also reflect the reasons of traveling,images of the poets,traveling experience and the cultural aesthetic psychology at that time.The third chapter analyzes Lou Yue's sightseeing poems,which reflect his sightseeing and sightseeing situation.Furthermore,there were differences in the poetry contend and style between his early and late years.Sightseeing poems also reflect the poet's psychology in different periods.The fourth chapter discusses the artistic features of Lou Yue's traveling and sightseeing poems.Firstly,his traveling and sightseeing poems not only depict the magnificent scenery in the journey,but also are full of vigorous feelings,which makes his poems strong and vigorous.Secondly,they are peaceful and natural,which is favored by people in Song Dynasty,and Lou Yue's traveling and sightseeing poems are influenced by the literary trend of thought at that time,showing the peaceful and natural artistic characteristics.Thirdly,they are implicit and euphemistic.The Confucian tradition of poetry education and the social reality of Song Dynasty gradually form the euphemistic and implicit artistic principles in the expressions of Song poems,which can also be found in Lou Yue's traveling and sightseeing poems.Fourthly,they are full of uddhist mood,and Lou Yue's traveling and sightseeing poems mostly express insights of uddhist mood.The fifth chapter discusses the poetic thoughts reflected in Lou Yao's traveling and sightseeing poems.Firstly,Lou Yue's traveling and sightseeing poems are in various forms of literature which are influenced by poems that belong to Tao Yuanming,Li ai,Du Fu,Han Yu and Su Shi.Secondly,he believes that excellent poems should be based on profound knowledge and reflect the importance of "composing poems through accumulation".Thirdly,his poems are written on the way of traveling and sightseeing,which is the best example of "poems promoted by the country".Fourthly,he pursues peace and ease.Lou Yue believes that poetry creation should be readable and against the substantial false use of luxuriant rhetoric.
