High school English curriculum standards(after referred to as curriculum standards)requires teachers to cultivate students' comprehensive language ability and promote their comprehensive development;Multiple intelligence theory(MIT)was put forward by Gardner holds that education should focus on improving students' various intelligences and achieving all-round development.The essence of the theory is consistent with the requirements of curriculum standards.Therefore,teachers can apply MIT to high school English teaching and design more scientific and effective classroom activities to enhance classroom effect.This study attempts to apply MIT to English reading teaching,and mainly answers the following questions: first,what is the impact of high school English reading teaching based on MIT on students' intelligence level? Second,what is the impact of high school English reading teaching based on MIT on students' reading interest? Third,what is the impact of high school English reading teaching based on MIT on students' reading level? First,the author uses questionnaire and English reading test to understand these two classes students' intelligence level,reading interest and reading level.Secondly,the author uses the teaching plan designed by MIT to teach English reading in the experimental class;the control class still adopts the traditional English reading teaching methods,and the experiment lasts for four months.Finally,the author uses questionnaire and English reading test again to test these two classes students' intelligence level,reading interest and reading level.The results show that compared with the control class' s students,the experimental class' s students have significantly improved their intelligence level,reading interest and reading level.This shows that high school English reading teaching based on MIT can improve students' intelligence level,stimulate their reading interest and improve their reading level.
