A Report Of Guide Interpreting In Wahuang Palace Of Shexian County Of Hebei

With the flourishing development of the tourism,the guide interpreters play a significant and indispensable role in our daily life.It is a kind of communicative activity for the purpose of meaning transmission,which can help the foreign visitors appreciate the incomparable beauty and splendid culture of China featuring five thousand years of civilization.Since July,2018,the author has acted as an interpreter for the foreign teachers in the practical school.The analysis of this report bases on the guide interpreting in Wahuang Palace.The main traveling route was from those three cultural squares to the Palace through climbing the mountain.Then,we visited the buildings below the mountain.The tour is characterized by the rich,unique and classical Chinese culture.What’s more,the Chinese tour guides always adopt the flowery and rhythmical language.However,the author bravely faced and embraced the difficulties and challenges encountered in the practice,and brought a good harvest after the reflection and summary.The practice is theoretically underpinned by the Triangular Model of the Interpretive Theory of Translation that holds there are three procedures about the Interpreting: comprehension,deverbalization,reproduction,and it also throws more light on the sense of information rather than the structure of source language.Accordingly,the author proposes that interpreters with subjectivity consciousness not only focus attention on the transmission of the message,but they also need to wield the right of empowerment.There is no doubt that it definitely serves to the optimum environment and the ultimate communicative goal.The practice report is divided into four parts,namely task description,preparations for the interpreting,case analysis,the summary of feedback and self-reflection.Last but not the least,it is the author’s hope that this practice could provide some suggestions and inspirations for the fellow guide interpreters.I strongly believe that a guide interpreter is more like a cultural ambassador,rather than seemly being a speaking tube in the near future,and we can better realize the cross-culturalcommunication between China and the western countries.
