A Report On Escort Interpreting Of The Tour To The Scenic Spots Of Yantai

This report is based on the interpreting practice in Changyu Wine Culture Museum and Yantai Mountain Scenic Area.As two of the most well-known and representative attractions in Yantai,both of scenic spots are of vital significance to understand the culture,history and customs of the city.Entrusted by Danish,an international student from Afghanistan,the interpreter accepted the task of escort interpreting in his trip.In the process of interpreting,she used Triangle Model of Interpretation Theory as the guideline and finished the interpreting task.The report consists of four parts.Chapter One is task description,which introduces the background of the task and the entruster’s requirements.Chapter Two is to describe the interpreting process,which consists of preparations before interpreting,the selection of interpreting strategy during interpreting process,and the evaluation after interpreting.Chapter Three is the theoretical framework and case analysis.The theoretical framework part introduces the Triangle Model of Interpretation Theory and its three basic processes.The case analysis part explains the application of the theory to the interpreter’s listening,memory and expression.In the stage of expression,relatively qualified performance was achieved through the strategy of addition,omission,and organization of sentence structure under the guidance of the Triangle Model.The fourth chapter is the conclusion,which summarizes the gains and deficiencies the interpreter has learned from this interpreting task.
