A Study Of Polysyllabic Words Of The Epitaph Of Northern Dynasty In Moxiangge

Epitaph is an article inscribed on the tombstone,which is used to describe the basic situation of the deceased,including the name,date of death,place of origin,identity,historical record and so on.We mainly study the 101 epitaphs of Northern Dynasty from the book of Epitaph of Northern Dynasty in Moxiangge edited by Yewei and Liu Xiufeng.According to the standard of defining polysyllabic words in this paper,the polysyllabic words in the epitaph of Northern Dynasty in Moxiangge are divided.The number of polysyllabic words of Moxiangge’s Northern Dynasty epitaph are counted 1892 polysyllabic words in total and are classified based on its structure.Then the representative polysyllabic words in each structure are analyzed.In the end,the characteristics of the epitaph of the Northern Dynasties of the Moxiangge were summarized,with a view to the vocabulary of the epitaph and the development of the whole Chinese vocabulary history.We have made a basic study of the various polysyllabic words in the epitaph of the Northern Dynasties in Moxiangge.We mainly study various polysyllabic words in Moxiangge’s Northern Dynasty epitaph.The paper has four chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.First,it introduces the significance and feasibility of this study.Then it introduces the previous researches on epitaphs and polysyllabic words.Finally,it briefly describes the content and research methods of this paper.The second chapter and the third chapter are the main part of the thesis.In chapter two,the polyphonic words are divided into two sections from the perspective of the structure of the polyphonic words.The first section introduces the simplex,which includes the combination of the two words,the overlapping words and the translation words.The second section introduces synthetic word,which mainly includes the eight types of polysyllabic words that include the combined type of polyphonic words,metonymy,complementary disyllabic words,subject-predicate disyllabic words,appended polysyllabic words,overlapping disyllabic words and synthetic disyllabic words.Then the static description and analysis of the disyllabic words of each structure are carried out in the end.The third chapter mainly discusses the supplements of the epitaph of the Northern Dynasty in Moxiangge to Chinese Dictionary and Chinese Dictionary supplement version,including the additions to the words received,the meanings and the examples.Chapter four mainly makes a contrastive analysis of the synchronic and diachronic polysyllabic words in the epitaph of the Northern Dynasty in Moxiangge,and summarizes the characteristics of the polysyllabic words in the epitaph of the Northern Dynasty in Moxiangge.
