| The contingencies of self-worth is developed on the basis of self-worth,and is a more important research direction.Everyone has different contingency and non-contingency fields.Some researches point out that the more specific the research on the contingency field of self-worth is,the more instructive it will be to the actual life in the corresponding fields.Adolescence is an important period for self-development,and also a critical period for individuals to socialize and form unique personalities.Young people who are in a period of rapid growth have great changes in all aspects of their bodies.They gradually become curious and begin to observe their appearance and physique,paying special attention to their weight,height,etc.They often compare their physical aspects such as appearance and image,athletic ability,and health status with others,resulting in differences in understanding and feeling,which is prone to " body troubles".It can be seen that young people’s self-concept of body affects their mental health level.Middle school students studying in our country are at this critical period.For middle school students,body image plays an important role in their sense of self-worth.Middle school students’ body image contingencies of self-worth refers to the degree of right degeneration of self-worth in the field of body image,that is,the degree of influence on middle school students’ body attitude,views and related experiences when judging their self-worth.The purpose of this study is to develop middle school students’ body image contingencies of self-worth weight change scale,and use this scale to investigate the current situation of middle school student’s body image contingencies of self-worth.According to the investigation,the reasons are analyzed,and then feasible suggestions are put forward for middle school students’ managers.This study consists of two parts:The first part is about the scale development of the middle school students’ body image contingencies self-worthFirstly,on the basis of literature review,open questionnaires and interviews,a four-dimensional model of the body image contingencies of self-worth is proposed.Secondly,referring to the form of items of the predecessor’s contingencies of self-worth scale,according to the key words obtained from the investigation,the items of the body image contingencies of self-worth scale are compiled,and the structural dimensions of the initial measurement table are discussed by item analysis and exploratory factor analysis,and unreasonable items are deleted and the scale structure is modified to form a three-dimensional model to form a formal scale.Finally,internal consistency reliability,split-half reliability,content validity,structural validity and external relevance validity were used to test the reliability and validity of the scale.The second part: Investigation on the degeneration of middle school students’ body image contingencies of self-worth.A self-designed scale was used to investigate the current situation of the degeneration of body image contingencies of self-worth and the differences in demographic information.The following conclusions are drawn from the study:First,the degeneration of middle school students’ body image contingencies of self-worth is a multi-dimensional psychological structure.The formal scale includes three dimensions:physical ability contingencies of self-worth,physical appearance contingencies of self-worth and mirror contingencies of self-worth with a total of 34 topics.Secondly,the self-compiled body image self-worth scale has good reliability and validity,and can be used as an effective measuring tool for middle school students’ body image contingencies of self-worth.Third,the overall level of the degeneration of the sense of body image contingencies of self-worth of middle school students is relatively high.According to the influence degree of body image on self-evaluation,from big to small,the order is: physical ability contingencies of self-worth,physical appearance contingencies of self-worth and mirror contingencies of self-worth.Fourth,there are significant differences in the general and physical ability contingencies of self-worth and physical appearance contingencies of self-worth of middle school students,with key middle schools being higher than ordinary middle schools.Fifth,there are significant gender differences in the overall and three dimensions ofmiddle school students’ body image contingencies of self-worth,which are shown as follows:male students are higher than female students in physical ability contingen-cies of self-worth,while female students are higher than male students in physical appearance and mirror contingencies of self-worth.Sixth,there is a significant difference in the right to body image contingencies of self-worth,physical ability and physical appearance among middle school students in general,and the right to self-worth of body image among urban middle school students is higher than that among rural middle school students.Seventh,there are significant differences in the overall body image,physical ability and physical appearance contingencies of self-worth of middle school students on whether they are only children or not.Only children are higher than non-only children.Eighth,there are significant differences in the overall body image,and appearance contingencies of self-worth of middle school students’,and high school students are higher than middle school students. |
