The transmission of Buddhism to the East and the entry into China have experienced a relatively complex process of exclusion, harmony, and integration with Chinese traditional culture and local literature. In the process of being gradually accepted by Chinese culture,Buddhism has also continuously absorbed the nourishment of Chinese culture and has become an important part of it.For the entire development of Buddhism, the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties can be described as the key period of continuous development. As the main body of Buddhism, monks bear the main responsibility for the development and dissemination of Buddhism. In addition to teaching the scriptures and holding various Buddhist rites activities, they also carried out many literary creations. The same is true of the monks of the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties. After the Eastern Jin Dynasty, monks 'literary creation entered its peak period. In addition to foreign monks,Chinese native monks have become the main force in the spread of Buddhism, especially some Chinese local intellectuals who have converted to Buddhism. Most of them have both the status of monks and literati. These monks not only injected new vitality into the literary team of Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties, but also brought new blood to literary creation, promoted the development of Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern dynasties literature, and played an important role in the history of Chinese literature. The Huiyuan Monastery of Lushan is a very representative group of writers. In the beautiful environment of Lushan Mountain, they created literary works on the reclusion of mountains and rivers. The works reflect a strong feeling of pleasure in mountains and rivers and seclusion.Based on their literary accomplishment and the metaphysical fashion at that time, the phenomenon of blending metaphysical Buddha and Buddha appeared in the sentences they wrote. In the Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties, there were also a group of monks who created Yuefu poems with the ancient title of Yuefu.Compared with the literati Yuefu poems of this period, the monks' Yuefu poems observed everything in the world from the perspective of Buddhism, used the method of Buddhism to express their feelings in poetry, and revealed a strong Zen meaning in detail, reflecting the Buddhist feelings of benefiting the world. In the Northern and Southern Dynasties, due to the emergence of the rhythm theory of poetry and the accumulation of parallel prose,Fu was developing towards parallel prose, and the worship of Fu was even greater in the society.Under the exaggeration of this atmosphere, monks in the Six Dynasties also wrote fu.Although few of them remained,we can see from the Limited Fu prose that monks made efforts to the development of Buddhism in China, such as the transformation of Buddhist scriptures, the use of Han people familiar with literary expression, the use of a variety of rhetorical devices and literary skills, and so on.The fifth chapter makes a brief analysis of other literary styles created by monks in Wei,Jin,Southern and Northern Dynasties in an attempt to have a comprehensive understanding of monk literary creation in this period.
