Research Involving Southern And Northern Dynasties Confucianism Verity Monks

Buddhism with Chinese characteristics is a process of three important different culture from disagreement to amalgamation which are Buddhism, Confucian and Taoism The first important period of the process is Wei,Jin and the Southern and Northern Dynasties.There is a group of special Buddhists and monks who studied the three culture in these dynasties. Some Buddhists and monks interpreted sutra through the words of Confucian and Taoism,the other ones explained sutra through the ideas of Confucian and Taoism.Because of the crucial work of these people,sutra and Buddhism become clear to Chinese.This paper will excerpt the background of knowledge and the stories of these monks from biography of eminent monks,and study the communication of Buddhism,Confucian and Taoism in Wei,Jin and the Southern and Northern Dynasties.This paper is aiming at studying the Chinese characteristics of Buddhism when Buddhism spreading in Chinese culture.In chapter l,it introduces the social status of Wei Jin and the Southern and Northern Dynasties,and the popular culture especially the conflict of Buddhism,Confucian and Taoism in the dynasties. In chapter2,it discusses the monks whose thinking and study were impacted by Confucian and Taoism. These monks are introduced by two aspects:the knowledge background and the interpretation.In chapter3, it discusses the monks who missionized was impacted by the royalties and the personages of the dynasties.This part also introduced how these monks dealed with the campaign between Buddhism and Taoism In chapter4,it summarizes the effect of these monks,and talks about the form of the communication of Buddhism,Confucian and Taoism.This paper argues that,the monks who studied Confucian and Taoism played important roles in the spreading of Buddhism.Besides,through the activities of monks,Buddhism was spreaded to the royalties and the personages of the dynasties.
