Character Shaping Of Duke Mantua And Analysis And Research Of Main Aria On The Oprea Rigoletto

Opera aims to tell stories to the audiences with music and interpret the character images using human voice.Due to the unique methods and means of compiling books concerning opera art,the characters,as the carriers of music and stories,are particularly important in the process of creation.Giuseppe Verdi creates the artistic image of the Duke of Mantua by combining music with drama.The image of Mantua in Verdi's works is so vivid.In addition to skillfully descriptions between the lines,he also portrays this character with impressive rhythm and clear melody.In accordance with Mantua's image setting as a playboy,most of his arias are lively dance music.This paper explores the singing style of the Duke of Mantua through two arias,namely,Questa O Quella and La Donna e Mobile,and studies his character image on the basis of the author's own experience.At the same time,in order to make the discussion clearer,this paper appropriately inserts some other forms of expression,such as music notation involved in the discussion,so that the argument can be better presented.This paper is divided into four chapters: the first chapter is a literature review,elaborating Verdi's life story and the theme and characteristics of the opera Rigoletto.The second chapter is the analysis of character images in the opera Rigoletto.Taking the Duke of Mantua as an example,this part makes a detailed analysis of his dramatic and musical images.Chapter three studies the Duke of Mantua's arias and some professional vocal music.Among them,the Duke's performances in two arias of La Donna e Mobile and Questa O Quella are analyzed one by one.Chapter four focuses on the role of Mantua.In the course of opera performance,it is necessary to make a thorough analysis of the characterization and to connect it with other aspect of the opera,so as to interpret the music in a more appropriate way.In line with the practical principle of music education,the author systematically studies Duke of Mantua's arias in the Rigoletto.Based on the personal experience,the author summarizes the characteristics of his vocal music,hoping that this method is able to provide some references for similar researches.
