A Research On The Performance And The Artistic Character Of Ensemble In Verdi's Opera-rigoletto

Giuseppe Verdi(1813～1901) was one of the most famous Italian composer in the development of musical history. Twenty-six operas were composed by Verdi in all his born days, almost each of which was highly appreciated by people who come from different classes at the first stage of presence and frequently performed. In the middle age of his artistic career, Verdi composed the opera---Rigoletto that was well-appreciated by operatic enthusiast all over the world with its excellent artistic quality and great social value, which indicate that his writing was approaching to the climax. The form of the artistic representation of ensemble played a vital role in the opera---Rigoletto. This dissertation will research this classic composition---Rigoletto according to the ensemble in the opera.This dissertation is divided to four chapters. In the first chapter, I will introduce the conception of the ensemble and the history of its development, as well as present the type of the ensemble in brief. In the second chapter, I will discuss approximately by three sections. First of all, I will briefly introduced the composer, the background and the story of Rigoletto, and then followed by explaining the character of the role in the opera to make sure the distribution of the ensemble in the whole opera. At last, I will prove the importance of the ensemble through analyzing the musical segment. The third chapter will analyze for performers in terms of sing, not only showing the demand for singers, but also analyzing the singing trait in details combined with the musical character of the ensemble segment and the development of the role in Regoletto. In the fourth chapter, this dissertation will express the significant value of the ensemble in Regoletto in terms of art, society, the meaning to Chinese operatic composition and the value to sing.
