As a black corolla in the field of human spirit, tragedy art has eternal aesthetic and artistic value.Humans have never interrupted the deep thinking of tragic works and the ultimate questioning of the theme of tragedy. This paper firstly analyzes the development of tragedy theory in Western literary theory. Then it links the specific texts of Chinese and Western tragedy art and compares the differences between Chinese and Western tragedies. Finally,it analyzes the causes of such differences. In the course of the research, this paper selects the classic texts in the Chinese and Western tragedies. For example, the Chinese tragedy works are mainly "China's Top Ten Tragedy".The Western tragedy is the three major tragedies of ancient Greece,Aeschylus and Sophocles. The classic masterpiece of Euripides and the "four tragedies" of Shakespeare. The first chapter of this paper focuses on the source of the Western tragic art and its theory. The tragedy originated from the ancient Greeks in the West. After several generations of philosophers' unremitting exploration, its theoretical connotation has been continuously developed and enriched.Aristotle's complete definition of the first tragedy created a theoretical precedent for the later researchers of the tragic art;Hegel innovated the theory of tragedy on the basis of Aristotle, combining dialectics with tragic theory Applying philosophy to the study of tragedy theory;the different representatives of Schopenhauer and Nietzsche as "pessimists" and "optimists" of"voluntarism" add a new color to the theory of tragedy;Marx and Engels This paper analyzes and summarizes the limitations and defects of previous tragic theory research, and uses the most scientific philosophical methods, namely dialectical materialism and historical materialism,to make the development of tragic theory a"quality" leap.At this point, the Western tragedy theory has developed and enriched to form a complete theoretical system. The second chapter of the thesis discusses the commonality between Chinese tragedy and Western tragedy. For example, the origins of Chinese and Western tragedies are related to folk activities, and their tragic spirit is a struggle against the existing predicament, but "there is no difference in the same".This article focuses on analyzing and comparing the differences between Chinese tragedy and Western tragedy from three aspects:tragic characters, tragic conflicts and tragic endings. From the perspective of tragic characters, the difference of Western tragedy is mainly manifested in the tendency of "popularization" in China, while the tendency of"aristocratization" in the West;from the perspective of tragic conflict, the difference between Chinese and Western tragedies is mainly manifested in:China is mostly"external" "The conflict";while the West is mostly"internal conflict";from the perspective of tragic ending, the difference between the Chinese and Western tragedies is mainly manifested as:the ending of the Chinese tragedy often adds a perfect decoration after the climax of the Great Sorrow, showing the "interest of reunion" The Western tragedy often sorrows to the end, showing"truthful beauty."The third chapter of this paper analyzes the causes of the differences between Chinese and Western tragedies. In geography and culture,China's geographical environment has formed a "farming civilization",a relatively stable and regular way of life like "sunrise and sunset",which makes the Chinese form a subtle and docile, just want to hold oneself. The characteristics of the three-pointed field are inconsistent with the characteristics of the people, and these hard-working,low-lying people who have suffered hardships in life have become the characters of Chinese tragedy;the unique geographical environment of the West has created its"marine civilization",in the harsh environment. To obtain survival information,we must always maintain combat effectiveness. The unpredictable ocean makes Westerners more adventurous and challenging. These heroic, fearless, courageous and resistant characters become the characters of Westerners who praise and praise.Western tragic characters often exhibit the characteristics of "heroization" and "aristocratization."From the perspective of ethical culture,China attaches importance to the value of family and state collectives, pays attention to human relations and blood relatives, and constructs a series of ethical rules that conform to social value orientation. The West emphasizes individuality, pays attention to self-destiny and self-worth,and thus triggers a series of philosophical thinking about "people."In terms of aesthetic culture,China is influenced by the Confucian "moderate" philosophy as "the beauty of neutrality",so the end of the tragedy will have the "funny tail" of "happy little tail",which will dissolve the intensity of tragedy to a certain extent.Feelings;Western philosophy is more about the confrontation and conflict between the subject and the object, until the final death and destruction,in the conflict between the essential power of human beings and the powerful object, the tragedy "one sadness to the end",showing The heroic characters not only transcend the object, but also transcend the self, embodying the dignity and value of human beings, thus exuding the "sublime beauty."Of course,in the end,it should be pointed out that the comparison made in this article is not to judge the tragedy of the Chinese and Western tragedies, but to distinguish between each other. For example, the "reunion of the reunion" of Chinese tragedy will make some works weaken tragic, but not all;and the integration of sorrow and joy constitutes the national characteristics of Chinese classical tragedy, which is also a unique part of Chinese traditional culture.
