With the development of teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages(TCSOL),teaching Chinese as a second language has been gradually popularized in the world.In the theory and practice of TCSOL,teaching methods occupy a relatively important position.Teaching methods should be emphasized in theory of TCSOL and also should be used in teaching practice.Based on the study of music and language,the author finds that there is a subtle internal connection between them.Using the relationship between them,a teaching methodology of music can be created as a supplementary means to be used in TCSOL.The introduction of this paper is divided into three parts: topic selection basis,research theory basis and literature review.The basis of topic selection includes the background of topic selection,the value and significance of topic selection and the research methods.The theoretical basis of the research includes multiple intelligence theory,second language acquisition theory,music psychology theory and intercultural communication theory.The literature review includes the research of the foreign and domestic correlation theories,as well as music-related content in Chinese teaching materials for foreigners.Chapter one expounds the origin,similarities and differences of language and music,discusses the relationship between language and music,and further elaborates the feasibility of the music teaching method on the basis of the above theory.Chapter two firstly expounds the advantages of introducing teaching methodology of music into TCSOL,and then introduces various music teaching methods.Some of these music teaching methods are explainations to the teaching material content or used by others,and some of them are the author's creative experiments in teaching practice.There are seven types of music teaching methods,including one-dimensional,multidimensional,background,rhythm,music style,bingo and dancing.Based on the summary of teaching practice,chapter three summarizes the principles that should be paid attention to when using music teaching method: The use of music teaching method should be moderate,be interesting and creative,be logical and can be summarized.Chapter four is about the investigation and analysis of using teaching methodology of music in TCSOL.The author designed two kinds of questionnaires,one for Chinese learners and the other for Chinese teachers,to understand the situation and evaluation of the use and acceptance of music teaching methods.On the basis of organizing information of the questionnaire,the relevant information is made into a pie diagram for data statistical analysis.In the conclusion part,the author summarizes the research results and innovation,and analyzes the shortcomings.The final conclusion is that the teaching methodology of music can be used in teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages or as an auxiliary means to serve TCSOL.
