People become focus on the parenting style in the society.And people begin to understand the importance of the original family.Parenting style is a comprehensive reflection of parents' educational value,educational behavior and emotional expression to their children.The accident recently happened in China which was about a teenager hurt his teacher,which made the situation involving teachers and students begin to be evaluated more.Teacher-student relationship involves affective,cognitive and behavioral interactions between teachers and students.Emotion regulation is a goal-oriented self-regulation.What's more,the emotion is one of many essential factors in childhood.To do the emotion adjustment well will help the development of children.Understanding the relationship between parenting style and teacher-student relationship can offer implications to educators,students,as well as parents.This study explored the relationships among parenting style(including 4 dimensions such as caring),emotion regulation strategy(including 8 dimensions such as positive rumination),and teacher-student relationship(including 3 dimensions such as status)with 1001 elementary school students in Shanghai.1.Results showed that there was no significant difference in parenting style concerning student gender.The caring dimension and the refusal dimension were both significantly different as for whether the student was the only child in the family.There were significant differences in the dimensions of over-protection and autonomy among elementary school students of different grades.2.The teacher-student relationship of girls was more active than that of boys.The only child's score showed a more positive relationship with teachers than non-only child's score in learning dimension.3.The results showed that whether the student was the only child in family,there was significant difference in rumination of positive emotion and suppression of negative emotion.The only child's scored higher than the non-only child.What's more,there were significant grade differences in neglect of positive emotion.The third grade's score was the highest.4.Rumination dimension,revealing dimension,neglect of negative emotion and suppression of negative emotion were all significantly positively correlated with the three dimensions of the relationship between teachers and students.Rumination of negative emotion and revealing of negative emotion were both negatively correlated with the three dimensions of teacher-student relationship.Parents were significantly and positively related to the relationship between teachers and students in caring and autonomy.5.Positive rumination,negative neglect,negative rumination,and negative revealing in emotion regulation partially mediated the relationship between parenting style and the teacher-student relationship.Children's developments need positive and active emotion regulation.They could use different ways to regulate emotions such as self advantage realization,attention diversion,perspective conversion and the like.This study also provides parents,teachers and schools with some educational suggestions beneficial for students' mental and physical health.
