A Study On The Construction Of "VP1 Shi VP2"

"VP1 shi(?)VP2" plays a crucial role in "shi(?)" sentence,and it is also a typical of verbal component as subject and object.This paper takes "VP1 shi(?)VP2" as the research object,and analyses the semantic relationship between subject and object,the reference and statement of VP and the pragmatic situation.Firstly,we explore the characteristics of "VP1 shi(?)VP2",the syntax and the semantic relationship between subject and object.This paper discusses the property of the structure itself and its components,draws the conclusion of the conclusion that "shi(?)" has: judging verbs and emphasizing markers.The structure has four forms in sentences: independent sentence,clause,object and attributive.Moreover,without changing the primitive semantics,by adding conjunctions or other components,the subject-object semantic relations can be classified into six types.The identification methods and specific characteristics of each type are listed below.Secondly,the reference and statement in "VP1 shi(?)VP2" are analyzed.In this structure,VP1,as the subject,is the object to be stated and should be referential;VP2,influenced by "shi(?)",can be discussed in two situations."shi(?)" has no practical meaning as an emphasis marker,therefore VP2 becomes a real predicate.VP2 retains its verbal characteristics and should be a statement.One the other hand,when "shi(?)" is a non-emphasis marker,VP2 will be a real object.Furthermore,based on the loss of verbal features and the increase of nominal features,VP2 is referential under this situation.In addition,while VP is a reference,its referential object often exists in the context or the common knowledge of the speaker and the listener.At the end of this paper,we establish the relationship between "VP1 shi(?)VP2" and context,and usage environment."VP1 shi(?)VP2" is closely related to the anaphoric cohesion of prepositional discourse and the prepositional cohesion of subsequent sentences,depending on the relation we established before.Both of them contain explicit and implicit,Additionally,the subsequent sentences have the tendency of semantic succession and semantic transition."VP1 shi(?)VP2" can be classified into two types: coping environment and descriptive environment.
