Comparison Between Wu'an Nuo Culture Han Ethnic Group China And Akawa Nuo Culture Igbo Ethnic Group Nigeria

Comparison between Wu'an Nuo Culture Han Ethnic group China and Akawa Nuo culture Igbo Ethnic group Nigeria is the main topic of this research.I collected information and data from literature works,read some related materials,and references from other works in other to analyse the characteristics of China and Nigeria nuo culture as well as comparing the difference between the two countries nuo culture.I also adopted the induction method to analyse the reason for the difference between nuo culture in China and NigeriaI carried out my analysis with the use of fieldwork,observations gotten from the actual performance as well as literary works.I also designed a questionnaire to interview some Nigerians and Chinese on their knowledge of masquerade.In other to achieve the purpose of this work,the research was carried out under three major sub-headings:1.Conducted a research on the similarities between The China Han Ethnic group Wu'an's nuo culture and The Nigerian Igbo Ethnic group Akawa's nuo culture.2.Conducted a research on the differences between The China Han Ethnic group Wu'an's nuo culture and The Nigerian Igbo Ethnic group Akawa's nuo culture.3.And also made a research on the reason for the existed differences between the two countries.This research work between the two countries has the following findings as follows;similarities in their aims,the actor must be a male,prohibition of sexual intercourse by the party involved,their performance has fixed date,their performance is carried out on the street,they both use musical instruments,both use props,both have songs as well as similarities in their educational function.Differences includes but not limited to the following;Method of raising fund,time of preparation,differences in the choosing of a performer,narration of stories in form of songs,differences in the method of displaying which involves;dance,songs,props such as hand fan,white chalk,symbol of truth,palm frond,mirror,cutlass,firecrackers.Although we are limited by time,but I'm able to make findings on the reason for the existence of the above differences between the two countries nuo culture.They are as follows;objective environmental influence and social environmental influence which was further divided into;historical reasons,Religious reasons and political reasons.So far,most of the research works on nuo culture were based on dance,musical,mask as well as historical comparison,but this research in a more detailed way conducted its findings and analysis based on the entire organization of nuo culture(the differences,similarities and reasons for the existed differences)as well as the societal cultural significance.This research work strives to fill in this gap.
