Confucius institute at Nnamdi Azikiwe university,Awka opened the first Chinese culture class for Confucius Institute students in Nigeria;acquired achievement and experience,we expresses admiration and respect.This paper carries out a research at Nnamdi Azikiwe University.It strives to have a deed understanding to current situation of teaching Chinese culture to Nigeria student and as well,pointed out some practical and feasible suggestions on t\eaching.The research was carried out by using 25 students and 5 Chinese teachers at Confucius Institute Nnamdi Azikiwe University,from findings,we believe that Chinese culture has gotten its basis;mush more students have shown interest and desire to study Chinese culture.And they are willing to work hard for it.At the same time,Chinese culture teachers have the requisite understanding and experience in teaching Chinese culture.I combine the research with my thought and understanding in studying Chinese culture in china,also make suggestions to Nigerian student studying Chinese culture.At Nnamdi Azikiwe University,for Chinese culture class to be electives or non electives classes all depends on the student specific circumstances.In a week,the classes are normally held for 2 to 3 Hours lectures.The main purpose is to systematic introduction of Chinese cultural knowledge,let the Nigerian students gain a better understanding of Chinese culture and also promote Chinese learning in Nnamdi Azikiwe University,Nigeria at the same time promotion the mutual understanding and friendly exchanges between the two countries.The choice and content of teaching Chinese culture should be considered typically,contemporarily and universally,additionally according to the actual situation flexible arrangements of students.Also suggest that Chinese should mainly use in explaining Chinese culture and English as the subordinate.The teachers should give the students homework.The Chinese culture class should be a discussion class between teachers and students and also full of variety.We suggest that exam method should be in flexible form like combining oral and written exam,creating groups and knowledge capability.It is important to note that because the topic of the thesis is new,therefore the survey sample is limited,inconvenience in released directly,limited time and my personal ability all contributed to the limitations of the research of this work,so I seek for experts and scholars comments.
