This practice report is based on the simulated interpreting of a series of public panel discussions named “Truth About Health” in February 2018.The four guests at the panel believe that the whole-food plant-based diet is a relatively healthy one, which is good for people's health.Interpreting this series of discussions can not only help interpreter understand the relationship between disease and diet, but also provide opportunities for more people to pay attention to personal health. This report is divided into four parts: task description, process description, case analysis and conclusion, with case analysis at its core. The third part, case analysis, focuses on the difficulties encountered in this interpreting practice;there exists a lack of fluency in the source language output, which is manifested in two main aspects: one is information ambiguity, including pronoun with a relative long dependency distance and logics implicitation;the other is information repair, including misstatement emendation and sentence segment mending. The interpreter applies the methods of explicitation and addition when dealing with the prolems of information ambiguity, and applies the methods of omission and restructuring when dealing with information repair problems. Finally, the report concludes by summarizing the interpreter's endeavor and pointing out unsolved issues and future inspirations. This practice report tries to summarize the experiences in achieving the target language fluency during English-Chinese consecutive interpreting,by discussing the effective interpretation method used during this practice. It is hoped that interpreters can avoid the similar mistakes made in this simulated interpreting practice afterwards.
